New Club Team for 2015

The Northern Energy Basketball Club was new to the club season in 2015. The selected players represented three different school divisions in the Grande Prairie area. These players worked hard and made the parents and fans proud as they competed with some of the best U17 teams in the province. The 2015 club season was a stepping stone for our only Grade 12 player, Emma, who signed with King’s University in Edmonton for the 2015-2016 season to begin her ACAC athletic career.DSC_7135

The 2016 Energy team is made up of players from four school divisions: Peace Wapiti School Division, Grande Prairie Public School Division, Grande Prairie Catholic School Division and Northern gateway School Division. The girls represented our region in tournaments in Edmonton, Calgary, Peace River, Grande Prairie, and now will prepare to travel to team camp at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, USA.The 2016 club season is a stepping stone for another Grade 12 player, Ally, who has signed with the Lakeland Rustlers for the 2016-2017 season to begin her ACAC athletic career.

The Northern Energy focus is to provide guidance to hard-working, focused basketball players in order that they may build new life skills and goals that they may carry forward in their future endeavors. Coach and Co-Founder Lisa is a tireless volunteer in this mission, putting the needs of the players ahead of everything else. Her ability to communicate to her athletes the importance of academics and athleticism comes from first-hand experience as a post-secondary student athlete. She mentors our Coaching Team and will continue to help build our athletes and coaches in to top quality basketball people. Coach Ally is able to use her experience from college basketball and her guidance from Lakeland Coach Chris King to teach skills and commitment to her players.  We are very proud and very pleased with the work our coaches have done for us and the work they continue to do for us and with us in the off-season. Coaches Ally, Kayla, Emma, Victoria and Lisa’s commitment to this team and to the players goes far beyond expectations. They are all a respected ambassadors for our organization and the youth basketball community as a whole.
